In the last update of this Substack, I intended to shut it down and launch a completely new one. Well, that obviously didn’t happen.
A lot has happened in my life since I sent that last newsletter. Here’s a brief recap of some of them.
As many of you who know me in real life know that one of the reasons why I chose to write and work from home was to take care of my mom. My mom had been sick for years.
In September after Hurricane Ida hit, she took a turn for the worse. She was in and out of the hospital until January of this year. On January 23, 2022, she passed away.
I have been spending a lot of my time taking care of her affairs and doing some thinking about what I want to do with the rest of my life. I still don’t have a lot of answers.
But here’s what I do know. I’m a writer, political commentator, and activist. I’m getting back to those basics first and foremost.
I have been a contributor to the Independent Institute’s Catalyst project for some time and recently restarted contributing to them after a hiatus. In fact, I’ll be turning in a piece for them either today or tomorrow.
Speaking of returning to work after a hiatus, I have returned to writing for The Hayride, which is a Southern regional politics and culture site. I look forward to getting back in the swing of things Louisiana and SEC states related.
I have been also writing for a new website called RVIVR. RVIVR is based on a new book by Scott McKay called The Revivalist Manifesto: How Patriots Can Win the Next American Era which outlines a new way forward for the center-right in the U.S. I urge you to order a copy of the book and check out the website.
On top of all that, I have become an ambassador for the Heller Foundation, a pro-gun advocacy organization. It is an honor to defend the Second Amendment.
Now, what is the future for this Substack? I’m bringing it back to life.
Starting next week, I will start writing regularly on here. I will have a free option but I will also turn on a paid subscription eventually. I’m undecided on what perks to offer but those will eventually come.
One of the problems that I have had in the past is consistency. I go really hard and then I exhaust myself. I promise to try and do better and stick with this.
I thank you for being with me so far on this journey and I look forward to seeing where this goes.
Great to hear man, glad to see you're busy as all hell. Here's to a big year.
Great to hear man, glad you've got so much going on! Keep up the great work!
